What if my property details have changed?

Updated over 2 months ago

If your home has changed since you bought your policy, your coverage details may need to be updated. These updates help ensure your policy reflects your home’s current condition and that you have the right amount of protection. Your insurer might ask for an inspection report or documents to confirm certain changes – we’ll let you know if that’s required.

Here are some examples of details worth reviewing:

  • Renovations or improvements: You’ve replaced the roof, added a room, or made other major updates.

  • Safety and security systems: You’ve installed or upgraded burglar or fire alarms.

  • Occupancy or use: You’ve moved in or out, started renting the property, or now use it as a seasonal or short-term rental.

  • Residents: The household has changed – for example, new people moved in or out.
