What is a Wind Mitigation Report?

Updated over 2 months ago

A Wind Mitigation Report evaluates how well your home can withstand strong winds.

It reviews construction features such as:

  • Roof deck attachment and roof covering

  • Building code compliance

  • Roof-to-wall attachment

  • Secondary water resistance

  • Opening protection (e.g., windows, doors, shutters)

The report helps insurers confirm your eligibility for wind-resistance discounts.

It remains valid for 5 years and usually costs about $100, or $150 when bundled with the 4-Point Inspection.

Note: A standard home inspection report cannot be used in place of a Wind Mitigation Report.
