Updated over 2 months ago

The exact options depend on your insurer and policy type.

For home insurance, common updates include:

  • Adjusting coverages and deductibles (for example, dwelling, personal property, or liability limits)

  • Updating ownership or policyholders listed on your policy

  • Changing occupancy (primary home, secondary, or rental use)

  • Editing property details, like roof type or construction

  • Adding or updating your mortgage or lender information

  • Changing your mailing address

  • Updating your payment method or payment plan

  • Adding new discounts (such as alarm or wind mitigation)

  • Requesting a policy review or fixing application details

For auto insurance, you can:

  • Add or remove drivers or update their information

  • Add or remove vehicles on your policy

  • Change coverages and deductibles (liability, comprehensive, collision, rental, roadside, etc.)

  • Add or update a lienholder or lender

  • Update your address (residential or mailing)

  • Modify your payment method or payment plan

  • Request a policy review or make small application corrections

Tip: All changes to your policy require your insurer’s approval, but we’ll guide you through everything as you go.
